ROCKFORD -- Zach Couper poured in 30 points to lead Boylan to an impressive 76-64 win over Peoria Manual.
The Rams roared out to an 8-2 lead in the first half, but Boylan adjusted to Manual's athleticism to take a 35-24 lead into halftime.
Peoria Manual, which suffered just its second loss of the year, was only able to cut the lead to seven points on one occasion. The Rams' press did little to bother Boylan and it frequently left Couper with open three-point shots in the corner. Couper made four of Boylan's five three-pointers.
Luke McDermott added 14 points for Boylan, Anthony Foreman added 13 and Sam Fehrle had 11.
Peoria Manual star Da'Monte Williams was hampered by foul trouble all game and finished with just eight points. A.J. Youngman single-handedly kept the Rams in the game in the second half. Youngman scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half and made all five of Manual's three-point shots.
