Batavia outshoots Jefferson to close Saturday play

ROCKFORD - The Batavia Bulldogs didn't let Jefferson's pressure defense bother them, building a 15-point lead in the first half and holding off a late rush in the second to win, 75-66.

Every time Jefferson appeared ready to turn a corner in the second half, Jayden Johnson (22 points) would get open outside or a Bulldog would find Andrew Heinz (16 points) open underneath.

The Bulldogs, who drained 13 three-point shots earlier in the day against South Elgin, made 10 more in the final game of the night. They also sank 19 of 24 free throws.

Jefferson was led by Jy'Aire Robinson and Quillin Dixon, who had 16 points each. My'Quion Garrett added 14 before fouling out, with the final one coming on a technical.
