ROCKFORD - Pierre Black hit a three-point corner jump shot with one second left to lift Elgin Larkin over Deerfield, 68-66.
Black scored eight of his 14 points in the final quarter. Jalen Shaw, a 6-10 junior center, was the game's scorer with 28 and Anthony Lynch added 12.
The late heroics overcame the solid play of Zach Rothenberg and Alex Casieri. Rothenberg scored 22 and Casieri 21 and the duo hit six of Deerfield's 10 three-pointers.
