ROCKFORD - Normal University High outscored Guilford 21-15 in the final quarter to edge the Vikings, 70-67.
Guilford, which lost to Batavia by 32 in its morning game, led throughout. Nick Phillips led a balanced attack with 15 points, Jamil Jones added 14 points, Dorian Jones 13 and Raheem Gregg 12.
In the end though, Normal had just enough. Keondre Schmacher socred 18 points, Kal Bates Diop chipped in 16 and Mark Widdel had 14.
