ROCKFORD - South Elgin had too much inside firepower for Guilford, fending off the Vikings, 68-57, despite 24 points from Nick Phillips.
Logan Atkins, a 6-3 forward, led the Storm with 21 points and fellow 6-3 forward David Binion added 11. Leading by just two at halftime, South Elgin pushed the lead to double-digits early in the fourth quarter.
Phillips led all scorers with 24 points, including hitting four three-pointers. He was the only Vikings to top 10 points.
